I am pleased to advise you that the Board of Directors of the Arts and Science Council-Charlotte/Mecklenburg, Inc. has approved the recommendations of the Regional Emerging Grant Panel. Accordingly, you have been selected to receive a grant of $700 and to be recognized as a 1992 Regional Emerging Artist.
The application was reviewed by a panel of representatives from the artistic, business, and civic communities in each of the six participating counties – Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, and Union. Applications were reviewed based on the following criteria: a) demonstration of exceptional talent; b) the degree to which the proposal could contribute to individual artistic growth; c) demonstrated commitment to an artistic career; and d) organizational ability and financial feasibility of the project.
We invite you to attend a meeting on Tuesday, January 7, 1992, at 4:00 pm at the Arts & Science Council offices, 214 North Church Street, Charlotte. At this time we will explain the grant requirements and payment schedule. It is very important that you attend this meeting.
